Invisible Fire Protection:
Undercover Sprinklers and Pipes

Undercover Anwendung Sprinklers of the Undercover product family from Minimax are the optimum solution for installing in-ceiling systems harmoniously and inconspicuously. They can be used when high aesthetic levels must be maintained, such as in exclusive hotel rooms, museums, department stores or office buildings.

Design-minded architects and builders find sprinkler heads with conventional collars protruding out of the ceiling ugly and bothersome. Due to installation that is almost flush with the ceiling and the selection of a surface finish to match the room, the innovative Undercover sprinklers offer new design possibilities.

Recessed Undercover-sprinklers

Minimax has developed two options - hidden and recessed Undercover sprinklers. Compared to the hidden sprinkler with fine-mesh diaphragm and the new CoverDrop system, the sprinkler head of the recessed Undercover sprinkler can be seen through the decorative ring. Both options are equipped with the hanging, rapid-response umbrella sprinkler - a proven Minimax component.

Undercover Kasten The CoverDrop system is based on two redundant working mechanisms. A leaf spring locked with the soldered strut is immobilized within the fine-mesh diaphragm. When the nominal trigger temperature of the soldered strut, which lies below the trigger temperature of the sprinkler, is reached, the leave spring is released and the cover is dropped. If, for some reason, the sprinkler is triggered before it drops out of the cover, the cover is released by the escaping water and even water distribution is guaranteed.

The new undercover pipes, which can be laid directly in concrete ceilings, enable future undercover sprinklers to also protect areas without suspended ceilings. The sprinklers are integrated in a recess in the concrete ceiling using a dummy.
