New Minimax 3-channel infrared UniVario FMX5000 IR flame detector

Bad Oldesloe, 30/06/2010 – There’s a new member of the UniVario product family: The 3-channel FMX5000 IR flame detector is designed, as are the other UniVario detectors, for use in - harsh, industrial environments. -Key features for this detector include: rapid response to open flames and significant false alarm immunity.

Open flames predominantly radiate in infrared (IR) and are rarely within visible range. Consequently only an IR flame detector can guarantee secure flame detection.

The UniVario FMX5000 IR is a 3-channel IR flame detector with spectral sensitivity in the infrared range: Three highly sensitive sensors -simultaneously monitor the infrared range of the optical spectrum and are processed via a microcontroller. A three-way optical test, in which all three of the sensors are individually monitored via a test transmitter, ensures a constant and complete functional monitoring of the sensors.
The infrared flame detector control range is up to 50 metres, the entire monitoring surface covers 670 square metres. (I suggest you include the coverage area in Feet as well as Meters)

An integrated microcontroller uses intelligent interpreting algorithms to enable the UniVario FMX5000 IR to completely suppress disturbance variables, such as hot surfaces and sunlight. Hence, the new infrared flame detector is also absolutely reliable for existing disturbance variables and offers maximum security against false alarms.

By simply plugging in a communication module the UniVario FMX5000 IR can be converted analogue addressable technology. It is the only IR detector, which enables configurable detector text and individual identification to fire detection control panel through random addressing. It thus offers a greater area of application and improved adaptability to changed operating conditions than competitive products.

The UniVario FMX5000 IR is approved by the VdS for the highest sensitivity class 1 pursuant EN54-10 and has FM Approval as well as the certificate of conformity for Russia.
